Today, if you don’t have a functional, informative website with online ordering capability for your customers, your business is in jeopardy. Even in rural and small town markets, your customers can order print from any number of online vendors at low prices and with delivery times that are “quick enough.” You may think that your customers are loyal. Any printer who hopes to remain in business for long needs, at bare minimum, a website that is easy to update (a content management system or CMS site) with file transfer and web-to-print capability. Print industry guru Scott Cappel calls web-to-print the “velvet handcuffs.” At the very least, providing your customers with an easy way to order business cards and other frequently used products can “lock them in.” At best, you may be able to create a new and profitable business niche by becoming an internal fulfillment center for one or several of your customers.

Can you do this all by yourself?
